Recycling

We offer free battery and oil recycling to help our customers complete repairs while practicing responsible waste management and minimizing environmental impact. To encourage our customers to take the right steps for proper disposal, we offer a $10 O’Reilly gift card for qualifying lead acid batteries.

Product Circularity and Remanufacturing

Remanufacturing is a circular process that minimizes waste and maximizes resource efficiency by extending the useful life of key vehicle parts and materials. A cornerstone of the automotive aftermarket industry for decades, it starts as manufacturers design products with reusability in mind, implementing closed-loop recycling processes, and bringing new life to used products.O’Reilly Auto Parts charges a refundable deposit to encourage customers to return parts that can be remanufactured (known as core parts), ensuring that items with reusable materials are diverted from the landfill.

We return millions of auto part cores to suppliers annually, and they are able to recover and reuse material including copper, aluminum, steel, and cast iron to produce high-quality remanufactured auto parts. In turn, O’Reilly purchases remanufactured auto parts and parts with recycled components from suppliers, completing the circular cycle.
